Helping Hand

In a section of our company newsletter called “Helping Hand”, we have featured and encourage our community to support the following organizations that are making a difference in the world. Spindrift makes a monthly contribution to these organizations:

The Rwandan Orphans Project (ROP) is a San Diego-based non-profit that provides care, education, food, health care and activities to about 100 orphans and street children from all over Rwanda. They employ three administrators, five teachers, three caretakers and two cooks and feature a large dining hall, three dormitories, five classrooms and a small library. If you’d like to contribute or volunteer your time, please visit http://www.rwandanorphansproject.org/.

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay. Nestled high in the Colorado Rockies, Shambhala Mountain Center is a six-hundred-acre mountain valley retreat surrounded by native forests, gentle meadows and rocky peaks. Tamed by decades of use as a contemplative refuge, SMC provides a supportive container for exploring paths of deepened awareness, personal well-being and societal transformation. Established in 1971 by Tibetan meditation master and teacher Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Shambhala Mountain Center welcomes all people with inspiration, interest and curiosity about the nature of self and society.
